Bernardo P. Brunschwiler, born 1956, is a Senior Banker and Managing Director, with 30 years international experience in Private Banking / Wealth Management at first class Swiss banks. He has worked out of Switzerland, Latin America and the U.S.
In his career Bernardo has managed professionals, offices and subsidiaries covering International Private Clients and High Net-worth Individuals in up to 20 locations in the Americas, Switzerland, Germany and the U.K.
He grew up in Argentina (Goethe Schule, Buenos Aires).
He speaks five languages and has an MBA level degree from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland (lic.oec.HSG). Further he has partaken in a senior management program at IMD Lausanne / Switzerland, in addition to internal senior management programs at BSI, Swiss Bank Corporation and UBS.
Bernardo started his professional career in 1982 at the Latin America Dept. of Credit Suisse, Zurich. From 1983 until 1992 he worked in senior management positions at BSI Banca della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Buenos Aires, New York and Zurich.
From 1992 to 1994 he was Executive Director and Deputy Head Human Resources International of Swiss Bank Corporation.
As of 1994 and until 2004 Bernardo was Managing Director, Head Wealth Management Latin America at Swiss Bank Corporation and UBS AG; as of 2005 Head Wealth Management Southern Latin America and Chairman of UBS AG's subsidiaries in Argentina and Uruguay.
Between 2007 and 2009 Bernardo worked in his own advisory firm Interswiss Asesores S.A. (Buenos Aires / Argentina). In June 2009 he joined BSI Zürich, where he built and managed a successful team of private bankers covering mainly Argentina and Brazil.
Since June 2010 and until September 2012 Bernardo was Head Argentina / Uruguay /Brazil and later on Head Latin America at Clariden Leu AG, a boutique private bank of the Credit Suisse Group.
